HZPC invests in connections with growers

Great news for HZPC’s seed potato growers in the European Union: HZPC Holding is starting its Connecting Growers programme this year, which will hand out share certificates. HZPC wants to remain an organisation run for and by growers. To this end, it is investing in connections with its growers.

Connecting Growers Programme

The Connecting Growers Programme will allow HZPC to buy certificates on the market and give them to its growers, pro rata according to their acreage. All active growers within HZPC companies in the European Union will be eligible for the programme.

Connecting Growers has been set up for a period of 10 years to offer active growers an opportunity to connect with the business. Without growers, there is no HZPC. Twenty years ago, almost all certificates were in the hands of active growers. Issues such as retirement, however, has seen this rate fall to around fifty percent. That is why HZPC will buy up around 1.5 million euros worth of share certificates on the market each year, starting with the 2021 season, and will divide these among its current active growers. This will ensure that all growers who wish to become co-owners in HZPC are able to do so.
