What is NFC?
NFC stands for Near Field Communication. It is a standards-based, short-range and wireless technology that makes it easy for people to make transactions, access digital content or connect electronic devices to the Internet in an instant. NFC is compatible with hundreds of millions of devices worldwide.

How does it work?
All Android© phones and Apple© iPhones (from version 7 and up) are NFC-enabled.
- Make sure you are ready to connect:
- Android users need to switch NFC ‘on’ in their connectivity settings.
- iPhones 7 up to X need to download a third party NFC-read application from the App Store, or run the built in NFC reader that comes standard in iOS 14 (go to Settings > Control Center > switch NFC Tag Reader ‘on’). Open up the app and go to step 2.
- iPhones Xs, Xr, Xs Max, 11, 11 Pro and 12 have NFC automatically switched on. No need to change settings or open up an app.
- Once you’re ready, just tap your smartphone against the indicator and wait until a notification pops up. You can unlock the data once you have confirmed.
The location of the NFC-chip in your phone is, differs. On iPhones, it is on the top of the smartphone. At most Android phones, the chip is in the middle centre. Just try to hold your smartphone in different positions at the indicator, it takes only a moment to ignite the interaction.
Your privacy is guaranteed. NFC is a passive technology that only works on short proximity. No data is collected from your phone.
