Review from our Product Specialist
Ask French fries producers to describe the ideal potato and they will tell you jokingly it should not have a potato shape but the shape of a square block, or even better, a golden bar! This makes them easy to peel, efficient to store (just stack them up) and you get nice fries with equal length. We now have a variety that resembles that ideal image. Quintera is a second-early variety that produces big blocky tubers with a consistently good frying quality. Its earliness combined with good storability makes this a flexible and multi-purpose variety that performs well in a wide range of environments. And unlike digging for gold, with Quintera the chance of striking success is guaranteed.

QUINTERA
The Sun-Shining Queen
When you’re dealt Quintera, you’re holding earliness and performance in the palm of your hand. Hot and dry? Good! Quintera is thriving with grace on sandy soils, uses water efficiently and can withstand dry periods very well. This Queen rules the table with a creamy taste, smooth texture and a touch of sunshine.
Early harvest, lasting results
Quintera is known for its uniform, big and ‘blocky’ tubers. The low reducing sugars and relative long dormancy offers the possibility to store it for a longer time. While keeping a high performance, Quintera can be harvested early and therefore reduces seasonal risks.
Thriving in challenging conditions
Quintera doesn’t just cope with challenging climates, it thrives in them. Quintera provides reliable yields and tuber uniformity, even during periods of drought. But when water is available, Quintera truly excels, unlocking its full potential with remarkably high yields
